KMK provided an update on the site visit to the Marine House and that documents have been received from the current property owner for review. KMK will review documents and provide recommendations to the Assembly at their next meeting. An in-depth discussion took place on affordable housing.
Assembly Highlights – November 30, 2023
In 2017, a community survey was conducted which determined the funds from the Mi’kmaw License Plate would be used for youth events and activities. The sale and renewal of Mi’kmaw license plates generate approximately $20,000 annually and these funds have been held in trust since the release of the plates.

The Assembly members went on a tour of sites around Debert with the Mi’kmawey Debert team at the Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq.
