The logo and name for the Enhanced Child Family Initiative project – Maw-Kleyu’kik Knijannaq – was presented and approved by the Assembly. The Assembly also recognized the efforts of the Maw-Kleyu’kik Knijannaq team advocacy for Bill C-92 coming into Federal legislation.
Discussion was had on Band Designates for Mi’kmaq Family and Children’s Services. The Assembly requested that KMKNO begin to draft a funding proposal for this.
The Assembly discussed the Environmental Regulatory gap on reserve lands and directed KMKNO to develop a joint proposal for regional planning.
A presentation was provided on the Mi’kmaq Cultural Tourism Strategy Implementation. The Assembly endorsed the plan and named KMKNO as the host organization.
An update was provided on the Arctic Surf Clam Limited Partnership.
The Assembly approved their new logo and gave direction for it to be used on all their materials.
The Assembly discussed the draft MOUs for Maritime Launch Services and for Anaconda Mining Inc. The Assembly approved the Co-Chairs to sign both MOUs on their behalf.
The Assembly discussed process for appointing the Board of Directors for Wskijinu’k Mtmo’taqnuow Agency Ltd.
An update was provided on the Efficiency One NSUARB Hearing. KMKNO will be providing a final submission for their public hearings.
Presentation was given on the Sipekne’katik Driver Education and Licensing Project.
A presentation was given on a potential joint venture between Robotnik, an independent internet service, and the Assembly.
Ulnooweg Development Group provided an update on the AMI Cannabis facility and discussed the press release that the Assembly issued following the Province’s recent announcement on cannabis edibles.
