Kwilmu’kw Maw-klusuaqn Negotiation Office (KMK) supports the Assembly of Nova Scotia Mi’kmaw Chiefs (Assembly) in negotiation and consultation processes and engages Nova Scotia Mi’kmaw communities on the best ways to implement collective Aboriginal and Treaty Rights. KMK is seeking a Beneficiaries Advisor to assist with this important work.
Reporting to the Governance Lead, the Beneficiaries Advisor will conduct research, engage with Mi’kmaw communities, and provide policy advice to support the Wula Na Kinu program. The role involves researching and providing advice on laws affecting Mi’kmaw identity and citizenship and will also contribute to the development of a Mi’kmaw Nation Citizenship Code.
